Collegeboard and Saint Joseph’s University?

Is it true that SJU admits 86% of its applicants like it says on collegeboard? I thought it was more of a selective school… Does anyone go to the school and can you tell me if I can get in with lower end, 3.1 gpa (honors, advanced, ap, 4 regular classes), decent sat’s, great recs/essays/activities? i’m definitely going to do an interview. (i just visited the school), and i’m going to apply early action. i’m also a refugee from E. Europe. Thank you!

When you first go to college or university from high school, what grade do they look to get into a university?

Hi, Right now I am senior in High School. I will graduate high school next year. I want to know that, when I finish high school and plan to go to the university, what grade does the university look for. For example: your high school grade or Any test’s grade e.t.c.)? Please answer it. I will choose the best answer and they will get point. Thank you very much!

Can someone please edit my letter/proof my financial aid letter.thanks?

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to appeal my spring 2007 semester grades. I would like to begin by apologizing for the lack of attention to my courses. One of the strongest contributions to the drop in my grades was the change of school environment. This was my first semester at the University of Houston and I was completely overwhelmed with everything from the school itself to my study techniques. I have attended several community colleges where the classes are much smaller than most of the classes I had here which allows students like me to not only bond with other students but professors as well. This bond opens up a communication that allows an ease to ask someone for assistance, I have yet to fully grasp this bond with either. The course content is another factor, although I have taken similar courses I have been in the Fashion Department for the past 2-3 years at the central HCC campus where our classes and assignments consisted of making things rather than sitting in a class looking at projectors and boards with notes. I was use to creating things that didn’t require a lot of time studying or reading because it was all hands on so my study skills were rather weak and I often miscalculated how much time was required to study and prepare for each class. Time was an issue because I am a single mother which therefore requires double parenting time as work time. My daughter is only four years old so she has yet to understand that I need to study and require some quiet time to focus and concentrate. The fact that she only goes every other Saturday from noon to noon on Sunday does not allow much time to study for all my classes and at the time I was also working full time while attending school full time.
Now that I have familiarized myself a bit more with the university I have and will continue to improve my grades. Currently I am enrolled in three summer courses in addition to one other which I ended with a B average. Although the classes are more overwhelming in the summer I feel that this is also allowing me to improve on my study skills for the fall semester. Along with improved studying skills I will also be working part time which will allow me to focus more on school. My daughter will also be attending pre-k and enrolling in other after school extra curricular activities that will allow me more time for studying.
With all sincerity I ask that I am given another opportunity and not denied any financial assistance. With out this enormous blessing I am unable to attend school. To receive my degree is extremely important to me not just because it would help me obtain a decent career to provide my daughter a better future, but it would show her what an important accomplishment this truly is.
Sincerely,

if few of your friends at school are calling you bad names in public, can you get police involved?

by school, I mean at university level, and by bad names I mean adding stupid adjective to before your name. I want to know about all legal ways available, since always you have friends which are kids compare to their age. you can ignore these things but when it gets more than a level, it becomes harrassement. since you are not a kid and this is not a kindergarden to complain to the teacher, there should be legal ways available to protect ourselves in these cases.

How can I afford college courses when my husband makes too much and I’m on disability?

I would like to obtain an associates degree but I always seemed to be right over the line of making too much to qualify for any financial aide. And the same for my husband, but we cannot ever afford the college tuition and books. I was told that I could get financial aide on my own because I’m disabled and on SSD.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is there any truth to this?
